Last spring my ‘Sable Song’ daylily looked like it should be divided. I dug up part of it and gave it to my sister to enjoy in her yard. So imagine my surprise this spring when ‘Sable Song’ looked like it needed dividing AGAIN.
Usually when I divide a daylily it “rests” for a year and blooms sparingly, but not ‘Sable Song’. My plant has 9 thick scapes on it with anywhere from 9 to 18 buds on each scape. That’s a lot of flower power.
‘Sable Song’ is a semi-evergreen daylily that grows 26 inches tall with 5-inch blackish-red flowers.
