If you’re looking for something that can add pizazz to your flower garden, consider Daylily ‘South Seas.’ The flower color of this beautiful plant appears different depending on the time of day and whether it’s sunny or cloudy outside. The blooms can range in color from a bright tangerine-coral to a more subtle melon.

I’ve only grown ‘South Seas’ for two seasons so far, but it has quickly zoomed to the top of my list of favorite plants. ‘South Seas’ grows 30″ tall with 5-6″ flowers. I planted mine next to purple Liatris spicata (spiked gayfeather) and the color combination is dazzling.

It’s no wonder ‘South Seas’ has appeared on the American Hemerocallis Society’s Popularity Poll. It’s a long-blooming, fragrant beauty that adds a unique splash of color to the garden.
