It’s like driving on the surface of the moon right now in this city. The pavement is going to be even more angry after all the rain we’ve had and our severe nosedive from 50 degrees last night to 8 degrees this morning. With chilly winds gusting to 40 mph overnight, everything flash froze.
I picked up a leaf from the pavement on my way to get the morning paper and it shattered in my fingers. My husband had to use my hair dryer to thaw out the frozen locks on his vehicle.
Hopefully the daylilies and roses weren’t fooled by the warm temperatures over the last few days or we could see a lot of damage when the garden awakens from its slumber.
