When one of my African violets croaked last year, I bought a replacement. The plants weren’t blooming at the time so I couldn’t remember the color of the now-deceased plant. I took a wild guess. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I guessed incorrectly and ended up with two purple-and-white-flowering plants.
The original plant has white flowers with a purple eye.
The newer plant has white flowers with a purple edge:
They are different enough that I’m happy to keep both.
However the newbie has started blooming again, and I now realize it was holding out on me. How fun is this?
Every petal that unfurls is curlier than the last one. What a delightful surprise!
