My friend gave me an orchid that bloomed for many years until it finally decided I wasn’t fit to be its owner. And it not only stopped blooming, but stopped sending out any green shoots either. Last year I bought a second orchid to perk me up during the pandemic. I haven’t been able to get that one to rebloom either.
And yet here we are:
Say hello to my newest lost cause! It’s a pretty orchid, but it wasn’t even my favorite at the garden center—it just happened to have the most buds on it.
The joke is already on me, however. After sitting in my house for 10 days now, 4 of the 10 buds have already turned yellow and will no doubt fall off soon.
