Veronica ‘Eveline’ is a perennial with beautiful lavender spikes. The plants grow 20 inches tall. If you deadhead the spent flowers, you’ll be rewarded with blooms for several months each summer.

‘Eveline’ prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. The plants are hardy in Zones 4-8.

The blooms of daylily ‘Inquire Within’ are very chameleon-like. They appear bluish-lavender when viewed in the shade or on cloudy days, but on sunny days they become a beautiful lavender-pink. The best feature of this daylily is the gorgeous bluish-purple watermark that contrasts with a chartreuse-green throat.

‘Inquire Within’ grows 34 inches tall with 5-inch flowers. Like other daylilies this plant is tough and can handle just about any growing condition. My plant grows in semi-shade and still rewards me with dozens of lovely blooms each summer.

Ageratum ‘Blue Planet’ is an annual that grows 24 to 30 inches tall with puffy, lavender flowers that look like tiny fireworks displays.

The plants are easy to grow and tolerate full sun or partial shade. The cool color looks lovely with pinks (like Snapdragon ‘Chantilly Pink’ above) or dark purple, but it also pairs nicely with warm colors like golds or reds.

Ageratums are virtually free of insect pests and diseases. If you keep them deadheaded, they’ll bloom throughout the summer until frost.
