I found the first dandelion blooming in my yard, so spring has officially arrived!
The bulbs that normally put on their displays in March appear to be in a big hurry. Or maybe the intensity of the April sun is too much for them. There are some bulbs that weren’t even peeking out of the ground yet a few days ago that shot up, bloomed and are already past their peak.
Thanks to hungry chipmunks, moles, voles and squirrels I only have a handful of spring bulbs left in my flowerbeds where there should be hundreds.
I’m enjoying the few survivors I have left.
And my pasque flower is still thriving. I almost beheaded it the other day when cleaning all of the leaves out of my flowerbeds. Its plant tag is mysteriously missing.
It’s almost ready to bloom!
