No Shortage of Rain

On Friday night a storm came through our area dumping almost 5 inches of rain. That’s on top of the 3 inches of rain that fell the week before and it follows one of the wettest months of May on record. The plants are loving it (but unfortunately so are the weeds and the mosquitoes).

It’s a jungle out there and I can barely tell where one plant ends and another begins!

Any storms that develop today could also dump heavy rains. Thankfully we had a couple of very hot days in between so the plants could dry out a little.

It always baffles me to see any plant flagging after so much rain, but yesterday in the 90+ degree heat even my drought-tolerant sedums seemed to be crying uncle.
