The faucet valve is stuck and we can’t shut off the water. Over the last 2 weeks I’ve measured about 20 inches of rain. Some of my perennials are starting to show signs of rot. I don’t blame them.
The leaves of my baptisia plant have turned black:
My potted petunias are crying uncle:
My rudbeckias are turning funny colors:
The only plants that look good right now are my sedums which have just started blooming. But they don’t like wet feet either, so I hope they can hang in there. There’s rain in the forecast every day through next Sunday here.
And the clouds of mosquitoes are back. Even if I wanted to take more sedum photos or try to get a handle on the gazillion weeds that are in my flowerbeds, I’d be risking my life.
