I’ve successfully kept my Alocasia ‘Polly’ plant alive now for a full year.
It gets a little crabby during the winter months when the humidity drops in our house and the bay window it’s sitting in gets drafty. Some of the leaves have turned brown and crunchy and faded away over the last year, but a new leaf always emerges to take its place:
Over the weekend my friend and I visited our local botanical garden where they have an indoor conservatory full of tropical plants. It’s a place of respite for those of us sick of winter. We spotted a cousin of my plant growing happily in its natural environment.
When it gets ample light and humidity, the leaves of this plant get huge!
