‘Night Rhythms’ was an impulse buy for me at the Wisconsin Daylily Society plant sale last August. It grows 28 inches tall with 6-inch, fragrant blooms. The official color description is “royal purple indigo blend.” I like the subtle white edge on the ruffled petals.
‘Night Rhythms’ started blooming for me on June 6th. My plant has 3 scapes that are loaded with buds. That’s pretty good for a first-year plant.
Sometimes daylilies bloom at odd times the first year after they are planted. ‘Night Rhythms’ is listed as an early-flowering variety, so my plant is right on schedule.
Some dark-red and purple daylily blooms fade dramatically in the sun, but ‘Night Rhythms’ keeps its strong color throughout the day. It’s a great plant for kicking off the daylily season.
