I was blaming my gang of giant bunnies for the tattered look on all of the tulips scattered throughout my yard. But I’ve since noticed similar damage on all my bulbs—even the one the bunnies never eat (like daffodils).
I’ve since figured out that it’s most likely frost/freeze damage, not critter damage. The temperature dropped to 16 degrees (F) overnight several weeks ago, and it’s also snowed enough to cover the ground several times in April.
