How’s this for dazzlingl?
I saw a photograph of daylily ‘Joan Derifield’ in one of the Eureka Daylily Reference Guides a few years ago and was intrigued. I planted one in my garden in the late summer of 2008, so this year was the first time it bloomed for me.
Often first-time bloomers will have some ugly flowers that can scare you into thinking you purchased the wrong plant. Every bloom from ‘Joan Derifield’ was exquisite. As a bonus, the rose-violet flowers are huge (7 inches).
‘Joan Derifield’ blooms in midseason and makes a great back-of-the-border plant with 35-inch scapes.
