Late last summer I had to compost a couple of my African violets because they had what I presume was root rot. It was just another chapter in my long saga as a brown-thumbed indoor plant grower.
Before I said goodbye forever, I saved a nice, big leaf from my favorite plant and soaked it in water for a few weeks until roots appeared. Then I potted it up. About 6 weeks later a lot of tiny leaves emerged:
Fast forward one year later and my plant is thriving (wahoo!):
There are no signs of buds on it yet, but I waited 2 years for an orchid to rebloom, so I think I can handle a dawdling African violet.
