Our screen porch is covered in plastic for the season and on sunny days it can get warm enough out there that I can comfortably enjoy my lunch while listening to the sounds of nature.
The other day I was soaking up the sun when I spotted some movement in the yard. It was a chipmunk! We’ve already had our first snow plus several nights with temperatures dipping into the 20s, so all the other chipmunks have been sleeping (torpor) in their burrows since early November.
The first thought I had when I saw this little guy was, “Snack run?”
