Daylily ‘Bat Masterson’ shows off fiery, dark-orange flowers with a red eye and a lime-green throat. The plants grow 28 inches tall, and the 5-inch flowers are fragrant and appear early in the daylily season:

The flowers are a big hit with bees and many species of butterflies. I’ve even seen a few hummingbirds sip nectar from ‘Purple Prince’:
Petunia ‘Shockwave’ Denim grows 7 to 10 inches tall and spreads up to 36 inches. The flowers start out dark purple-blue and fade to more of a lavender color as they age. They look particularly fetching planted with pink flowers.
