Finished Flowers

My ‘Spartacus’ and ‘Christmas Gift’ amaryllis bulbs are putting on one final show with their second or third flower stalks for the season.

And I have one last amaryllis yet to bloom—‘Elvas’. It should open in the next few days.

When ‘Elvas’ is finished (assuming it doesn’t send up a second flower stalk) I will have enjoyed about 10 weeks of flowers from my amaryllis bulbs this winter season.

It’s been a nice pick-me-up. Well, except for the one that got too top-heavy and took a dive off my bay window in the middle of the night (slept right through the crash!). Then it was just me picking up a big ol’ mess.
